Hi everyone,

My PCM navigation has suddenly gotten extremely inaccurate for estimating battery % on arrival. Even for a short 5 min (2 mile) drive, it showed that my battery % would be 4-5% higher than the starting % (no charging stop added). Obviously this is totally wrong. Fwiw, if I plan out the exact same route on the Porsche app on my phone, the estimated charge on arrival is much more reasonable.

I’m not sure what prompted this sudden change because I haven’t upgraded to 28.13 or had any service appointments in the past few months.

I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this issue or has any ideas about how to troubleshoot. It feels unlikely that this is just a simple math calculation bug — maybe the battery is reporting different state of charge to the navigation module vs instrument cluster?

Thanks!

Having exactly the same issue after the last update. It will add or delete 30 miles from the range estimate before I've even driven a mile. Driving me nuts. Plan on bring this up to the dealer again when I see them this week.

Unfortunately this issue is sometimes still there even in the latest 28.13 update.
It does work good on other VAG cars like my previous E-tron which was spot-on so I don’t know why they are not able to fix it on the Macan.

On my side it is sometimes correct and sometimes way off. I Always use a destination for 90% of my travels to have traffic and re-routing active so I have a lot of moments but my guess is that it’s good in 3 out of 10 or something.
It is a known issue and as far as they told me they are still actively working on the software and bug fixes but no new version or dates have been announced so far.

The latest 28.13 update did not solve this problem for me, but a PCM reset did :(

Woohoo, I think I found a solution!! It was inspired by this post actually. When I switched to Guest mode, the estimate was super wrong in the other direction (it was estimating -5% charge for a 2min/5mile drive), but it showed me that the issue was related to user profile, probably some user-related driving stat that got corrupted.

So, I tried deleting my user profile and re-added it and it initially still gave me -5% for the 2min route, but after I spent some time re-configuring the UI to my liking, I input the destination again and it showed -1% for that route!

The annoying thing is that a lot of UI configuration gets lost when you delete & re-add the user profile. I spent ages putting all the apps into folders and giving them thoughtful names lol... that all disappeared as well as the quick-access menu and various privacy settings. So I'd say it takes about 5-10mins to reconfigure everything to your liking once you re-add your profile. Knowing that these things are transient, I'm gonna skip grouping the apps into folders this time hehe, in any case, I'm glad I have accurate battery % estimates again! 🥳

Last night I charged my Macan 4EV, 2024, to 90%, (usually do 80%). This morning, my Porsche phone app said I had 366 miles of range. Got into the car and the instrument panel said only 326 miles of range. I'm recently having an issue with the car display and app not agreeing. I have 10,548 miles on the car. Not sure what to do, but I really enjoy driving my dream car that I bought as a retirement gift to me! Anyone else experience this and what did you do? Ty

ignore the estimates - they are wildyly inaccurate and easy skewed by recent driving behavior - if you need an actual estimate of "can I get there" - put your destination in the PCM navigation and then see what battery % you are estimated to arrive at destination…

the "guess-o-meter" is basically pointless an easily wrong for multiple reasons - it can never be correct because it doesn not know where/how-fast you're going drive - it only knows how much power is in the battery and what your most recent consumption rate is…it's a backwards looking estimate and the navigation is a forward looking estimate…and knows speed limits, traffic, elevation changes…

ignore the guess o meter it's numbers are essentially random…and no more accurate than the milage estimate on my 911 GT3 for the gasoline - at the end of a track day my 911 GT3 estimates I can go 57 miles on a full tank of gas (it's wrong)…but it's doing that estimate because I've been driving full throttle all day on race track…

your car is fine, there is nothing you can do - learn to ignore the guess o meter - it doesn't matter - pay attention to battery % - that's accurate - milage is a guess…

When you get in the car, turn the climate function on, then this happens. If you don't turn it on, then you will see the difference.

Thank you, this makes a lot of sense and it's reassuring.

No, I didn't mean that.
When you saw the higher mileage on the app, and it became lower when you got in the car, then that is probably because you turned the climate function on.

Hmmm, the climate was on when I got into the car.
