I’ve had my Macan for about a month and have not yet taken it through a car wash. I notice that if I hose it off, it might lock/unlock. Sometimes hosing the rear, the hatch triggers open. Mine is a MY26 with digital key.

Anyone had this, or anything else, happen in a drive through car wash? Are there any precautions you recommend?

Unfortunately the Macan doesn't have a Car Wash Mode like some other EVs.

What I normally do is drive into the tunnel and leave the car in Drive, with the brake pedal briefly pressed firmly, which activates Hold so the car won't move until I press the accelerator. In Drive mode, the car won't respond to Comfort Access input.

Obviously this only works in a car wash where the car is stationary. If you use a tunnel where the car is pulled through, use Neutral just as in an ICE. I think that will accomplish the same thing as Drive plus Hold.

Plenty of entertaining videos on youtube if you don't use a car wash!
From Tesla manual: Car Wash Mode closes all windows, locks the charge port, and disables windshield wipers, Sentry Mode, walk-away door locking, and parking sensor chimes.
From Porsche manual: Good luck😁

Open car, put keys (of all kinds) in house, wash car. Otherwise the lock shenanigans will definitely get annoying. Disable the swoopy hand gesture stuff as well to be sure.

As for a car wash - not happening. For me it would take longer and lead to a dirtier car (I’m 50km from the nearest non-touch). It only takes an hour to two-bucket my PPFed and ceramic-ed vehicle and I get to check for any surface issues when I wash it.

Have to agree with comment to NOT use autowash and do it yourself. Car wash will eventually kill paint. Brushes/pads abrade paint. Brushless car wash? They use harsh chemicals to clean. It's all in how you want your vehicle to look - if you can live with a 20 footer thn do whatever you want. Whites and silvers hide car wash damage best - on anything else it's going to eventually show.

Sit in the car, lock it from the inside, and see if someone can activate the boot from the outside (I doubt this to be the case). I would never take my car through a carwash unless I'm sitting in it myself.

At first all I could do was laugh. Then I was just speechless! Thanks for sharing…
