I finally got to see this feature actually animate when I approached the car tonight. It seems the conditions have to be just right for it to work. I guess it only works in some specific low-light or nighttime settings — though I’ve walked up to the car plenty of times in total darkness and it’s never done the “dance” before. Honestly, it feels a little too glitchy to be of any value.

Love that feature. btw, I'm changing out my black on black letters for the blue pictured here. Thanks for sharing!

I have it on my Taycan and it does it under the correct lighting conditions and seems like when I unlock using the key. Locking with the key, it does it in reverse. Taycan has the lit PORSCHE logo so it’s either first to light or last to turn off by fading.
I’d still get it again but didn’t do it on the Macan because it would have been dark or blue lettering. Blue didn’t match the Provence and didn’t want black lettering. Looks good on yours though.

Curious, does this wink happen to all as well?

yes,... i've never seen the rear. it's an option right?
i don't think i have it...
but the front def has a on/off "animation" it's very easy to see if you're parked near a wall. It's like a "curtain" opening/closing of the lights

I may be missing something, but I see this every time I approach my locked car with my key in my pocket (day or night). Not sure what you're showing me.

They really make this option more confusing than it needs to be.

If your Macan is optioned with the “Light Strip with ‘PORSCHE’ logo” in Glacier Blue or Black, it comes with the coming/leaving home light animation.

When you lock or unlock the car, the red light strip does a short sequence — flashing in the center and then moving outward (coming home), or the reverse when you leave (leaving home).

Just note that this animation only works if you have the Black or Glacier Blue light strip upgrade — the standard version doesn’t include it.

And what they don’t make clear is that the animation only activates in low-light conditions, which is a pretty silly limitation.

No. Don’t have the blue. I should probably look more closely at the video to see what he’s talking about. My red bar and stop lights do there same “dance” when I approach, Will pay closer attention to the blue Porsche logo.

Curious, does this wink happen to all as well?

Isn't that just the self levelling of the headlights in operation start up - all LED headlights will perform this step?

The basic matrix will do the curtain fold as each led in the array is powered off on power off.

HD Matrix rather than standard Matrix perform an actual routine on Taycan , 911 etc but not an option on Macan yet.

Rear light animation and illuminated logo is an option on Taycan just now (looks tacky IMHO).

aren't those Matrix headlights?
it's hard to see the curtain animation if it's not against something like a wall...
