This is driving me nuts but hope the solution is simple. The right panel on the instrument cluster has an option to choose to display what music is playing. EVERY time i get in the car it defaults to the screen to choose the music content (radio, phone, etc). I have to hit the back button to get it to show the song playing. How do I get it to stay on the display song selection.

Anyone had this issue?!?

Mine is the same. I haven’t found a way to get it to default to the track cover screen.

Mine sort of does the same, but I think it's because I'm playing from CarPlay. When the car starts up, CarPlay isn't connected, so it just shows the source options. Once CarPlay connects, it then doesn't always go back to the track info, but if you hit the back button on the steering wheel that's what it returns to (so long as the right cluster is selected).

I don’t have a solution, but thanks for the tune suggestion. Great song!

With Comfort Access my CarPlay is already playing when I open the door but the right panel still shows a selection of play list or iPhone or radio and so as you say I have to hit the back button together the track info.

Is the play list option only from a USB ?

I suspect it's related to how quickly the dashboard display program starts vs how quickly carplay connects and starts. If the dashboard manages to start first, it doesn't have a source selected so it goes to the source list. If carplay manages to start first then it shows the track page as desired.

It seems to work correctly for me about 1/3rd of the time, and I'm guessing those are the times carplay establishes quickly enough.

Got my Macan this last week and been having the exact same issue. Honestly super annoying -- because I want that gauge to show the PLAYING MUSIC... and even though music is playing... it defaults to showing a source list (???).

I was using my Samsung and Android Auto with Spotify, for reference.

But I figured out a "fix", or workaround.
  • I stopped using Android Auto to listen to music.
  • I installed Spotify app from the car itself, via PCM.
  • Logged into car's Spotify app, and started listening to music from this.
  • I disabled the ~ automatically start music setting, in my Android Auto settings.
  • Now when I get into my car -- music automatically starts playing from the car's Spotify app (not from my phone, not from android auto).
  • And a weird outcome of this --- that right gauge automatically just shows the playing track now. It does not automatically start on the 'select source' menu!
