Is porsche paint thin?

Took the car to a touchless wash... Came home to wipe off the water and bugs left on....
As I'm wiping the hood, i find chips and scratches the whole length of the hood!
Wtf!
The chips most likely from road debris... But the scratches look mighty suspicious
They're almost the whole length in congruent arches....
This shit sucks
I guess this is why yall get PPF immediately. I'll have to get the video on here. It's much easier to see

Porsche paint is known for being fairly even and of average thickness, there’s a review where someone measures the paint on a Macan EV and it fits that.

this looks more like a chip , hard to believe the wash would do that unless it were launching sand or something.

I don't think he's saying the wash caused it. He inspected the paint after the wash and discovered the damage.

all washing has been touchless at this point...so i dan't think the scratches are from that at all...
there are chips as well..i assume those are just from driving...

the two scratches being long and parallel, make me think someone did it

i guess i'll have to look into a PPF for the front at least

I just finished getting ceramic clear coat on a three month old Macan 4S, the service included a survey of the paint thickness and it was (min to max) 4.13 to 5.2 mils on the hood and 4.13 to 4.25 on the roof. Bug remains had marked the paint and required polishing. before ceramic coating. The car is beautiful and I was impressed with the level of detail in the process. This was not cheap but it should last three years. Clear 6 mil film was added to the headlights for low impact protection.
