Is there any way to make the car change to the lowest lift setting every time it parks (anywhere, not just one geo-location)? Then return to Normal lift when it goes back in gear?

The seats in the Macan are set back further from the door sill than many cars, making it harder to get out of. I normally like cars sitting taller, but in this one it's easier to get in/out while it's lower (because we have to reach our legs out further). But I like driving in taller mode around town (and the ride is smoother). Ideally, I want it to automatically go LOWEST when put in PARK, and NORMAL when put in DRIVE.

I would love this feature. I'm paranoid about wearing the leather on the outer seat bolster so I'm always kind of hopping out of the car so as not to drag my pants across the bolster as much. Would be easier with the car in the lowest setting.

Also from a purely silly aesthetic point of view, I like the way the car looks when it's parked in the lowest position 😁

It really makes no sense that we can set it to go low only at a particular location (or at least I think it can do that - I haven't gotten that to work yet). If you want it to go low when parked at home, you almost surely want it to go low ANYWHERE you park it.

So many things in this car's software that are head-scratchers.

If there is a reason to not have the feature, I suspect it is because if you went to a new place and parked over something, lowering the car could bring the battery down on a large rock and cause damage

Perhaps, but that's gotta be what, a 1000:1 exception that someone parks on top of a big rock? If they're off-roading (which is far more rare than automakers hype it as), they presumably have it set to the off-road highest setting. I'd be OK with it not automatically lowering from that highest setting based on that assumption. But from Normal or Lower (i.e. normal driving), it would be a nice feature. But of course optional in the Settings. Makes more sense to me than only at a specifically saved geo-location. Saving every location I park at makes no sense.

Not the end of the world, but another one of those "what were they thinking?" annoyances.

From Porsche's perspective, I could see them not wanting it to automatically lower when stationary at all. If it were to do so, even 1000:1, there would be a decent claim that the damage was the fault of the car, and a liability for them. If the user has to manually lower it, they can come back and say "It's your fault, this will not be covered." Especially since the battery is the most expensive part of the car.

But yet they include the geo-location option to do it automatically. At least I think that's what that option does. I really need to test that today in my garage to confirm that's what it really is. Maybe I'm totally misunderstanding what it's saying?

No, that is what it does, but in that case they could say "You configured the car to do it, so it's your fault it lowered on top of something and broke the car"

But you'd still be doing it by choosing to turn on the setting. So either way.

Configure your sport or sport plus mode to have the lowest setting.
Remember to turn the knob to sport mode when you park.
It's not automatic, but once in the habit, it's "convenient enough."

That's a thought as a shortcut, for whenever I'd remember to do it. Better than nothing, anyway.

When getting back in the car, I wonder which takes back over - the last setting or the driver profile that would return it to Normal lift? I'll have to test that.

Well it turns out SmartLift only moves the car to the highest setting, not any of the 4 that you want. Bummer.

Looks like the Drive Mode dial is the next best thing (albeit manual every time). I configured Sport to the lowest height. Fortunately, it does reset to Normal Mode when the car turns on again for the next drive. And stays in Low until you get back up to speed.

I suppose if I had to jump a 6" curb to get into my driveway (I don't), SmartLift might have a use.
