Thanks for your insights, sadly, I'll get hit with the luxury car tax now, and of course pay-per-mile if that eventually goes ahead. The 4S in the UK doesn’t come with RWS - it’s an option. I was going to get a 4 and then was offered an earlier build on an S. I then noticed that the price difference narrowed between them as some of my selected options were standard or cost less on 4s. Then in my case, the S was considerably cheaper insurance on the S rather than a Turbo, so that meant the S was the top model I could sensibly go with. Perhaps that’s not the case for you.
What sealed it, was that the S could be registered before April 25 but the 4 couldn’t - saves me 5 years x £ 425
I've just spec'd up a 4S - £101,271, Turbo - £111,458, and GTS - £101,665. The GTS, which I had not initially considered, seems like the best option, because it gets a few other items included, that are additional options on the 4S. Finance GFV was also ~£6k higher than the 4S.
I've not looked at insurance yet, but my M5 is group 50, and insurance is sensible - ~£700 renewed Sep'25.
I have an F90 M5; the E60 M5 is >4s 0-60, whereas the F90 is <3s - general, non-launch acceleration is also great. The Macan 4 I test drove was obviously much less reactive, that's why I'm looking at the higher performance variants. These vehicles are of course completely different animals, I'm not looking to match, but do want plenty of oomph when called forDifference in acceleration times Turbo & M5
