I took delivery of my Porsche Macan 4 a week ago in Germany and drove it back home to Vienna, Austria. Having driven BMWs for over 25 years, I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of driving experience, technology, quality, and, on top of that, the transition to an electric vehicle. But I can honestly say that so far, I’m very happy with my choice and have no regrets whatsoever.
Some notes after 1 week and 850Km.
Interior:
The quality and finish are luxurious. I opted for the Black/Bordeaux leather interior, and I absolutely love it.
Exterior Color:
The exterior is finished in Ice Grey Metallic. Initially, I was unsure if I’d made the right choice regarding the color, but seeing it in person, I’m really pleased. I love how the color changes depending on the light and angle. If I had to choose again, I’d pick it without hesitation.
Air Suspension with PASM:
Even with the 21” winter wheels, the comfort is impressive. There is a bit more road noise than I expected, but it could also be the Continental tires. Both my summer and winter wheels are 21” Macan Design, but the summer tires are Michelin and the winter ones are Continental (though I wish it were the other way around).
Consumption:
Currently, my average consumption is 23.5 kWh per 100 km. Most of the driving has been in temperatures around 3°C, this includes some higher-speed driving on the German autobahn and a few days of city driving. Additionally the first 450km I had the Summer wheels inside the car.

Issues:
- PCM Connectivity & "My Porsche" App:
I’ve encountered a few hiccups with the PCM system and the "My Porsche" app. Twice last week, the app switched back to "Privacy Mode," forcing me to log in again. This seems to be fine now. However, the app still shows “Loading vehicle data” and “Just updated,” but doesn’t seem to update properly. Some data, like the total odometer reading, occasionally updates, but others—like battery percentage, range, or whether the charging plug is connected—have been stuck for several days. I also can’t precondition the car remotely, although it worked perfectly just last week. - Porsche Charging Service & Plug and Charge:
Since I bought the car in Germany but live in Austria, I need to change my preferred dealer in order to activate the Porsche Charging Service and Plug and Charge. Unfortunately, there’s no way to update this through the app or browser. It’s a frustrating issue that I’m hoping will be resolved soon after visiting the local dealer.
