Opening rear doors from inside

For the first time today I had passengers in the back. When we stopped they couldn’t open the rear doors - the doors were unlocked according to my panel on the door. I had to get out to open the doors. I looked in the manual and it says that opening from inside cannot be done if safelock is on. But the manual also says to use the door opener twice and the door should open. Tried that and it didn’t work. How can I set it so that rear seat passengers can exit without me going out and getting wet in the rain

There’s another thread on this topic related to “child lock malfunction “. I had the same problem at delivery. They ended up replacing the locks. Another member solved it by turning the plastic child lock on the side of the door (it has to be open to see it). There’s a picture of it and a discussion in these threads.

it sounds like you had the childlocks on...that button is on the drivers door... just turn it off
