2) it s not really complicated to generate a notification if the car is moved without the car key or the phone near by (or any other criteria) , you could also introduce a pin code to start the car, and so on and so on .

2) you are thinking Insurance purpose (which is a good point) but many of us don't have this insurance request so it will be good to have this feature embedded in the car - for satisfying your insurance then you'll always be able to add a certified device while for the rest of us this level of security would be sufficient ...

DavidL - my dealer has said the supply and fit is £ 750 payable to them and then the subscription circa £ 300 to Porsche. You didn't have any issues with it but was the monitoring of it up to scratch
Hello.... Just checked and it was £522 for installation and £228 for 1st 12 months. I would be checking their pricing as i would have thought it a standard throughout the group? The £228 was to Vodaphone, not Porsche :movember:
Never had any issues with monitoring etc and works well. Vodaphone always quick to respond to anything

@Wivenhoe
As I mentioned elsewhere on another thread, try taking a quote from Admiral. They don't require tracker.
I found them to be the cheapest. If you phone, you get better deal and even better if you combine with your other insurances, like home and contents etc.

Thanks for the info.
I’ll ask the dealer to double check the supply & fix cost. Your figure of £ 522 is the same one I saw on a Vodafone site.
I saw you r3commending Admiral and so got a quote from them and it is the lowest yet. I’m with NFU and will try to get them down to the same amount. I like NFU as you can always get through to a knowledgable Brit and they replace a new car if stolen or written off with a new replacement for 2 years.

Fair enough if you prefer NFU. We all have personal likes.

By the way, Admiral is UK-based too with headquarters in Cardiff, and I have had good experience with them so far with their customer service. My home insurance with them was way cheaper when I moved it to Admiral.

FYI, you can look into Gap Insurance for comparison with what NFU offer you. Gap Insurance is a policy of a new car if stolen or written off.
For this I found ALA Insurance to be the cheapest and they have a good rating. It was just over £300 for three years, ie about £100 a year. Again, getting it over the phone you get a better deal, as they offer better discounts.

I was a bit anxious as I had a load of insurance quotes declined. I decided they weren’t too keen to insure a 69 year old despite a clean licence and no claims for over 15 years. I saw the post about Admiral so got a quote. Spoke to NFU and their quote was about £ 50 more. I then upgraded to a 4S, as delivery was months earlier - so nervously got a quote from Admiral and it was £ 100+ less for the 4s than a 4 ! Spoke to NFU and they were about £ 100 cheaper so I asked how come - I was told all car insurance policy’s are coming down but it was more likely to be they had had more claims on 4’s than 4S’s !
