- 2024 Porsche Macan 4 EV

There is a difference between physically disabling the safety feature and shutting off the amplification of the Porsche electric sound in the PCM which is caused by a $490 optional sound generator "that can be added to the Porsche Macan EV to enhance the driving experience." The optional electric sound is produced through the car's entertainment system and two exterior speakers. Selecting the PCM disable feature disables amplification of the sound through the car's interior speakers.I am SHOCKED at the number of people wanting to disable a SAFETY feature so pedestrians (or cyclists) can hear the car coming.
Are people really THAT selfish that they can’t handle a hum, putting others’ lives in danger?
For fucks sake, what is wrong with you?![]()
An algorithm selects the appropriate sound based on the car's speed, torque, and driving situation.
The sound is designed to be emotional, rather than obtrusive.
I understand your concern about physically disabling the external speaker system's safety noise. But disabling the amplification through the PCM setting for the interior speakers is not a safety feature and is not cause for alarm.
