Pre-Cooling in the Winter!

It's 26F/-3C outside and the car has been in out in the parking lot all day, so safe to assume it's probably quite cold in the cabin. So I turned on the pre-climate... and it started cooling! I stopped it, tried again, and it started heating, thankfully. Never a dull moment with the EV!

Hah! Glad you caught it.

To be fair even ICE have preconditioning, though we tend to associate app-enabled cars with EVs. I wonder if this could happen, say, in a ‘25 Cayenne.

Hey today I was discussing this issue with aftersales. Where is the option to pre-condition cabin and, specially, battery, before departure?
They told me that wasn't possible with the Macan (it is with Taycan) unless its packed with smartcharge, cabin-pre-condition in a pre-scheduled departure time (set on screen or app).

If someone manages to know how to tell the car, no matter if the SoC is at your pre-established setpoint or hasn't reached it yet, heat up the battery at six o'clock!, please let me know.

The situation is rather simple. I departure to work at 6:00 and sometimes the car isn't plugged enough time to reach 75% setpoint from my previous trip. The app options don't apply because the car is expecting to reach 75% at 8 o 9 o'clock. I can heat up the cabin, but not the battery.

I find the commands rather simple:
- charge up to 75% from 00:00 to 06:15 (you may finish at 00:15 or at 09:45)
- have the car heat up at 06:15 no matter what
- have the battery heat up at 06:15 no matter what

maybe I or the ""smart-system"" are too dumb to set up that pattern, maybe its possible maybe not, any help would be appreciated!

chat- in the UK App we have the ability to set the preconditioning of the car to any temperature - heat or cool and whether to heat both or 1 front seats.
