I think you should be concerned about any vehicle you can buy now days. They all have built more than a few lemons. Most seem to revel about Tesla software, but they have laid quite a few eggs and then several have even caught fire.

My opinion is that any car can leave you stranded or worse, there are no exceptions. So buy what you like to drive and take your chances Be happy, deal with the rare or trivial problem. Or don't own a car.

My 4S has been flawless less a couple trivial things that are not defects. My Mercedes was a lemon.

Thankfully, so far my MY24 GLS 580 and MY22 Sprinter are doing great. I had a pinched wire in the GLS that took three frustrating visits to the dealer to fix, but it was resolved, hasn't happened again, and is not commonly reported.

Neither has regular reports as concerning as the Macan EV in their forums.

Yes, modern luxury cars have complexity and software issues, but reading Volkswagen's software history and current status is very concerning. Additionally, there are too many dealers who cannot fix EVs and just hope that a software update will fix everything.

There are plenty of reports of a Mercedes die on the road and needing a tow into a dealer and I think that is what you are most worried about. I saw a recent GLS on the back of a flatbed last week. I've been visiting Mercedes forums for several years and the enthusiast sites are full of similar complaints and software issues.

Just saying you worry too much. Buy what you like to drive regardless. They are impressive cars.

I wasn't referring to any issue where a tow is required. I am aware that all cars can run into those issues. I was referring to loosing power, sound, screens, safety systems, and propulsion suddenly when moving.

Anyhow, I am glad that you are enjoying your Macan.

I have seen a number of MY26 Macans delivered in Q4 this year. Are you suggesting that they were only the Base and 4? That no 4S models have been delivered for MY26?

I have significant concerns with the software and Volkswagen's ability to maintain it, along with their desire to do so now that it seems to be legacy software that they are moving away from. I have significant concerns with Porsche dealers' ability to resolve hardware issues with the vehicle without claiming that it will be fixed in a future software update.

I also have significant concerns for the safety of my family after hearing about multiple instances where the vehicle has become unresponsive or lost power on the road. Additionally, I am concerned about the numerous examples of owners being unable to charge their vehicle, new voltage restrictions, charge ports stuck, other charging errors. Plus battery drain while parked.

I thought that Porsche had learned from their experience with the Taycan. It seems like they have a lot more to learn. I am no longer comfortable investing 150k€+ in this platform.

Only 4 and Turbo models delivered so far and appear few and far between from my armchair analysis.

4S’ are seemingly not being delivered yet, reflected in those stuck in port, those with build dates being pushed back and slow updates to the configurator.

If you’ve actually got wider concerns then jump ship.
