Understand that the 22”’s provide a stiffer ride — and better handling! Just like every sports vehicle, the shorter the sidewall, the more aggressive the ride and the better it handles.

Try a 20” or 21” tire’d Macan if you value ride over handling. Many have done so and are very happy with these two tire sizes on their Macans.

In my original post I stated that I tested both the off-road wheels (21") and Turbo (22") when driving the Macan EV's.

My current ICE GTS Macan has 21" and it's a far superior ride. The jarring ride characteristic of the Macan EV is largely in the design of the car and suspension.

I went back out in the Macan 4 and just didn't like the rigid ride at all. If a pothole or manhole was hit just right, the car could do that 1-2" lateral kick with a very loud >bang< in the cabin. (in comfort mode).

I believe the ride is the result of a very heavy and rigid battery pack in a car with an air suspension that needs to be firm enough to remain agile even in the most supple setting.

That day after my 90 minute test drives, I drove home in my own Macan GTS and it felt like a Bentley in comparison. Regrettably I was forced to cancel my Macan EV order.
I definitely can't agree. I had a Macan S loaner for a week recently and test drove the GTS in October--would never choose the ICE platform from a ride quality standpoint. The EV has much more precise handling and increased body rigidity. The S lacks crispness and the GTS suspension does not react as quickly over uneven roads. We definitely do not have glassy roads in the PNW and there is no question that the improved air suspension and longer wheelbase are upgrades on the Electric.

Also, the Macan Electric does not have a comfort mode. Not sure what you mean about a "lateral" kick with a vertical road deviation, but I have not experienced that in the 6000 miles I've put on my 4S across plenty of potholes and six aggressively sunken manhole covers in my neighborhood. In normal mode, there is a bit more bounce, which sport mode or lowering the suspension one notch evens out for me.

I'd question whether your Macan test drive was one with rear axle steering, since that did make the ride a little busier on uneven roads and is partly why I didn't order it.

Four different test drives of the Macan EV, two distinct cars. We will have to just agree to disagree. I don't cancel Porsche orders easily and there is no way after spending multiple hours in the EV would I choose it over the ice GTS simply based on quality of the ride over different types of city and highway road types.

...but I did like the design aesthetic and the interior was phenomenal. I wanted to like it.

One last thing I will add: both sets of wheels, the road noise is very loud relative to other EV's and I've heard this reported quite often. It's got more road roar than even the little Volvo XC 40 recharge. In the end the only thing I disliked about the Macan EV was related to suspension and road noise

I wouldn't dream of trying to convince anyone otherwise. Car selection is ultimately about personal experience. But your opinion is nevertheless the outlier. The ICE Macan is a fine car, but as Google AI's summary succinctly puts it: "The Porsche Macan EV and the gas-powered Macan (ICE) offer different ride qualities, with the EV generally praised for a more refined and controlled experience, especially on uneven roads."

One last thing I will add: both sets of wheels, the road noise is very loud relative to other EV's and I've heard this reported quite often.
"Many people are saying"....where? That's really not what reviews say (e.g., CarWow: "Out on the road, the Porsche Macan Electric is a quiet and refined thing to cruise about in. The Turbo model’s air suspension smooths out all road imperfections, and there’s loads of sound deadening so it’s peaceful and refined in town, and there’s just a hint of tyre noise at motorway speeds."), nor is it consistent with our family's collective ownership of 8 different EVs. The only one that is quieter is the BMW iX (63dB), which is very much deserving of the quietness crown. But the Macan is definitely not "loud relative to other EVs".

Most definitely untrue. Having owned a Polestar 2 and with a brother who also has an XC40, there is just no way. I haven't been able to find a single Google result supportive of this claim. Almost all of the measured sound levels for the XC40 are 70+ dB, with the lowest (single motor) at 68dB. None of the Macan EV sound levels are that high, with the two measured at 66 and 67dB.

We enjoy our ride immensely. Today driving mountain curvy roads in an assertive manner. We want a car that handles well and the shorter the sidewall with all else being equal, the better they handle, though conversely the more assertive the ride becomes. We like our sports-car-handling Macan EV with its 22’”s and every performance option.

Others choose a Macan EV with 20’’s or an alternative brand with a designed cushier ride.

I suspect the different tyres fitted and if the pressures are high could explain the different thoughts.

I have Bridgestone Potenza’s and find the tyre noise a bit more than I expected. My previous EV had Continental Cross Climates as the Dunlop Sport Maxx standard fitting were very noisy.
