The manual warns that self parking can damage your wheel - check!
Self-parking is not great on Porsche, it grazed my rear-wheels with the curb a couple of times. And I don't have RAS.
Never happened with my previous BMW i4.

absolute senseless thread. just read the start of it everyone: car selfparked perfectly. btmacan left parking manually and hit curb. insists that its the cars fault.

this is a big problem here: someone gets a new macan ev. no idea about it. things go not well. of course the manual or reading of already written posts no option. complaining here is more fun. this makes it hard for me to distinguish real problems from fake. not fair to people with real problems…

I very much appreciate this thread and threads like it.

We bought a new BMW iX and the very first day I had it, I tried the same function in our own neighborhood. Just to see how it worked.

And it’s slowly ground a new 22 inch wheel into a curb.

Of course the manual says using that function can damage your wheels. Then why offer it?

And I also think leaving the car an inch away from the curb is setting someone up to damage the wheel. Porsche is an engineering company and I expect this could be better.

And I also appreciate someone who puts themselves out there, makes themselves vulnerable to attack, by putting a warning like this out. Lots of people will benefit from it. Thank you.
