That documents how to turn down the emergency *braking* function.

I'm talking about the red collision warning indicator in the HUD and the ding sound that warns about possible collision.
It is frequently way too sensitive, and the car does not actually brake when it shows this warning (because there's no actual danger of collision.)

It doesn't seem like the sensitivity setting for braking affects this warning, as I have the braking sensitivity to "low."

I've tried that, too, it affects the yellow triangle that hovers over the car in front of me if I start tailgating. I also have this on low, and it doesn't affect the early sensitivity of the red HUD collision warning/beep.

Jwatte - that’s what I thought. It would be strange if you could reduce the distance that ‘emergency braking’ kicked in or turn it off. If there were say 3 settings they would in effect say - furthest away “I normally don’t pay attention so help me”, the mid distance “Only sometimes sleep at the wheel’ and nearest “I hate this car so looking to write it off so I can get another”

Right, but the setting name is "the emergency stop function."

I'll try to ask the service advisor what each of the features actually mean, and see if they can find out from headquarters, because I don't think the manual is all that helpful if you haven't already memorized all the Porsche-specific product name jargon from some other source ...
