It's always been possible since launch on the Taycan - just need to ensure you have the correct type of trickle (LiPo) charger.
Yes I have now used a Porsche Trickle Charger (set on Li-Ion) and plugged into the cigarette lighter socket at the very front of the centre console storage bin of my Macan. The charger lights lit up as usual so I assume it is supporting the 12V battery. Does anyone know how I could actually confirm that the 12V battery is being charged?

The trickle charger itself has lights that should tell you if it’s charging and what state it’s in. Need to be sure it’s set to LiOn charging

I am currently having the exact same issue. Came back from 7 days away…. My Macan turbo ev was at 80% when I left and is now DOA. I tried boosting using the 12v cables in the tow port…. Got the Frunk to open… but the Frunk latch would not unlock. Porsche Roadside now saying they will not boost it and have to tow it. This is crazy. Never had this problem with my Taycan. Any ideas how to unlock the Frunk latch? Nothing better than having this happen at the end of the day of a long weekend!

I had the same issue in that the frunk just unlatched, but wouldn't open all the way. My Roadside guy used a light and screwdriver to manually release the latch, and when he got the frunk fully opened, he used his portable battery charger and connected to the battery terminals which eventually brought the car back to life and allowed me to charge it.

That is what ended happening… needed a screwdriver to unlatch the frunk. I drove for 30 minutes to do some errands and the car was DOA again! Roadside came to my location quickly went through the process again. Halfway home got this message. Limped home…. Turned the car on and off and the message went away. Love these software / engineering gremlins!
