Context: first time EV owner, early March purchased CPO 4S w ~2k miles (loaner), city versus highway driving is 70%/30%, coming from a 2015 BMW 435i so zero experience with all of the “safety” tech that has come into play over the last decade.
Summary: Recently had what can only be described as a violent phantom braking experience. First month no incidents of AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking). Second month two jolts for no apparent reason but nothing like the whiplash-level event just experienced.
Dropped at the dealer this morning. AI suggested I ask to check the Active Safety logs for that day/time to “see what the radar and camera were seeing at that exact moment” to show if the car saw a phantom object or if a sensor momentarily glitched. Dealer said they would look into if that was possible as “Germany” only allows them to pull data with sufficient reasoning. I am guessing that since “Germany” pays for service they have to authorize what gets done and/or they don’t want disclosure of hard data that could show a glitch for liability reasons. They are staring with the software update. I assumed this was the WSJ0 Campaign; however, just realized the tech used the world "recall" when referencing it today.
Question: Anyone ever ask for this type of info and successfully get it? I don’t fully trust AI to be accurate so unclear if it is possible.
Thanks in advance.
