Yellow hands and limited driving assistance

Has anyone come across this warning on the surround view screen - with little yellow hands? i'm also seeing an "assistance systems limited" warning on the driver console. i guessed it meant that some cameras/sensors were dirty so have cleaned them all but still get the warning. any tips?

Your guess was correct - the manual describes the icons as meaning - Sensor dirty. System not available or only has restricted availability
if you’ve cleaned all the sensors and then locked the car and left it for a bit then it must be a faulty sensor ?

It's the polite way of telling you you need to clean your car lol Or at least, the sensors. You need to get used to it as a 'winter hobby' unfortunately. All of the rain water and road salt cover them very quickly. Be glad that there are only 5 sensors on the Macan (which I think is a huge under-specification) as the Audi e-tron I had before the Macan had 16! Plus much better surround vision for having so many.

Yes. I had this exact issue and no matter how many times I cleaned the sensors under the side mirrors, the message would not go away.

I took my Macan 4S to my local dealership and they cleaned all the sensors. The dealership told me there was a waxy buildup on the sensors they were able to remove. I suspect the waxy buildup was from when I had my car detailed six weeks ago. My dealership did not charge me for the service. I hope this helps.

Our 2019 E-Tron also had better camera views but used large amounts of windshield washer fluids cleaning the sensors. I assumed the Macan would be the same. Of course that will not clear wax. One more thing to check after detailing....
