My car was sitting in the garage and just started sounding an alarm with the error message below. Anyone get this? Its Sunday and cannot contact Porsche but this alarm will not stop.

ok so it happened again randomly just sitting in the garage. No local kidnappings so must be something wrong with the car

Ok so here is the scoop. The trunk release error is part of the anti theft code. The service rep said that during the download and configuration of my car they did not complete the anti theft coding they need to do hence the error. This was a service oversight and not an issue with the hardware.

It does give you the impression that the software configuration is very piecemeal. I am from the software world and I know the difference between a manual and automated config. process. This kind of oversight is often due to the process relying on manual steps being performed (usually from some checklist). Anyway, hopefully your service rep did not overlook that part of the coding update but if you get a random anti theft alarm then this could be your root cause.

Shawn, I posted recently about multiple rotating error messages. My turbo is now on day 9 at the dealership with no resolution. Porsche AG is involved; however, it is clear they have no idea what the source of the issue is.

Like you, I come out of the software world, but admittedly in the CFO role. Having read through many of the posts, it seems clear to me that the software platform is unstable and unpredictable. At this point with my car at the dealership for 30% of the time since I took delivery, I am coming to the uncomfortable conclusion that the release of the car may have been premature.

Hi Gary

Sorry to hear you’re having troubles. So far I have not gotten any more errors but still a little Reluctant to claim I see nothing but blue skies ahead. I think that if the issues are dealer related and lack of knowledge on how to configure, then that is an easier problem to solve with training, and if the errors are due to fundamental coding problems or worse, hardware related issues, With the turbo, you may have a more complex build than I do. I did not get the HUD or innodrive or sport chromo and I think the turbo has some performance software that I don’t have. I wanted to keep my build simple. I am curious to know what errors you’re getting.

In any event we are the first group and I expected we would not get off Scott free even though we should. By contrast, I was one of the first group to get Teslas and the hardware and fitment issues were a concern and a bigger disappointment. The software was also buggie in the first versions. It’s pretty much always the case executives will put a lot of pressure on the software group to release even though they’re being told it’s not ready. Remember the early days on the Microsoft operating system… That was a living hell. Thank god we have zero significant issues with hardware or finish

Hi Diego, here are a sample of the rotating warnings that were displaying every 3-4 seconds or so. The 2nd occurrence (the next day) there were additional warnings with the added outcome of not being able to drive the car. I locked the car and left for about 15 minutes and when I returned the warnings had cleared and I was able to drive the car. Porsche AG is apparently at a loss as to how to resolve other than requesting the dealership keep driving the car to replicate the errors. I am guessing by now that the dealership has more miles on the car than I put on since I took delivery.
In my humble opinion it reflects a software platform that is not ready for prime time and pushed software issues that they don't know how to resolve onto the buyer.

Wow ok so from my perspective it is unlikely that that you have bunch of hardware issues happening all at once. I think that they need to wipe the software and do a complete reinstall and reconfigure.
