Innodrive is way way way better in the Macan than my personal experience w/ 2020 Taycan, 2021 Cayenne, 2022 911 TurboS

but after 900 miles of driving - I have been forced by my person preferences to disable "speed limit matching" and "adaptive speed based on route" - just like I have done in my other 3 porsches

Innodrive is better at lane keeping, smoother at matching speed limits, has fewer times it has decided to slow down and generally just "strong" and less fussy…but both myself and my passenger-co-driver agree - speed limit matching is a problem when it decides to slow down, and it's too slow/conservative on cornering and drive too slowly around hwy-curves for the flow of traffic…

I have included a pic below of my current innodrive settings for your reference - this mirrors the settings I have on my other 3 Porsche's

land keeping is much improved, and my co-driver feels it's better than his 2022 BMW X5 at lane keeping and in particular navigating hwy curves…

active lane keeping so far has been excellent - with very little reason to intervene or override - it works well and it works smoothly.

I'm liking the charging port on the rear of the vehicle - and CCS1 on the driver's side - Taycan was always a bit awkward even when the cable was long enough…

here is a "demo" of the ambient lighting when you allow it to convey status in vehicle settings…

this setting illuminates the ambient lighting on the door to indicate blind spot warning

personally so far I like this feature and love the additional visual cue for blind spot detection…

we're living/dyiing by the PCM navigation and it's estimated battery @ destination - I'm finding it to be accurate +/- 3% - but it's an essential road trip tool…it's "live" update of the battery estimate at destinaiton is also key to seeing if you gaining/losing in terms of making it to your next stop - gives the driver confidence to know how to drive the car and how to adjust vehicle speed to match our goals…

I think it would be impossible to effectively road trip with out this data - certainly be more difficult - we also use it to "war game" different charging stop scenarios to see if what we're thinking can work - It's not he best software, but it's a better PCM navigation than I have in my other Porsche's - and super fast at map/route recalculations…deep integration with the AR HUD is the icing on the cake…

generally I'm finding the PCM navigation to be an improvement over previous versions…

PCM in general seem stable, fast, and functional - easier to pair your phone - and carplay reboots seem fewer and father between -less drama as you switch which phone is the "carplay" phone also - seamless switching - and quick "startup" of carplay has been my experience so far.

all of these postings are coming to you "live" from the passenger seat via the car's WiFi hotspot…

easy peasy to join the hotspot via QRCode, and then you devices have internet while in the car.

it seems to "just work" which is exactly what is required for this sort of thing.

we left the last EA charging stop with 9% estimated at our charging destination - careful driving and some favorable road conditions and we've worked out buffer up to 14% as you can see in this screen shot - we plan to "burn" some of that buffer with more liberal interpretation of "speed limit"

the give/take of this single piece of data allows one to make a well informed decision about if you're going to make the next charging stop…

also in the screen shot you can see a "new" feature of hte PCM nav - little tiles with "interesting" stuff on the mile's time line - it also sometimes pop's up a "charging" site on the time line to let you know there is a charger on your route that you're going to be driving past - this in my mind is a slam dunk _GREAT_ feature - kudos to Porsche!!

I have measured a 2024 Macan Turbo w/insulated glass and 20" wheels and Pirellie Scorpion All season tires…

HWY 40 west

sound db reading @ 77 mph on concrete hwy surface 68 db
sound db reading @ 70 mph on concrete hwy surface 63 db

sound db reading @ 77 mph on asphalt hwy surface 63 db
soudn db reading @ 70 mph on asphat hwy surface 63 db

road and wind noise is the major "noise" whlie driving - and road surface is the main culpret

nice smooth asphalt is the best and noise is minimal at any speed.

Yah that’s disappointing. Out of spec Kyle got 3.1 mi/kwh on his range test which I think translates to 32.2 kWh/100 miles and his was on 22s I believe.
I can not replicate Kyle's consumption - I would love 3.1 mi/kWh - it would make this trip sooooo much easier.

I'm finding chargers to be placed "awkward" for our Range

they seem to be about 120-140 miles - or about 250 miles - or 350-370 miles

this means you eitehr stop at the 120-140 mile mark which is too early…but the good charging spots that are 250 miles away are just out of reach for the Macan…

so we're doing a lot of charging at 25-35% because we can't quite make it to that next charger, but had plenty of range to get the charger at the 160-190 mile point...

supercharger access would make this trip much much better r- and allow us more often to drive to 5-10% cause I"m finding Tesla has superchargers at about the point I could pull in wiht 8% and charge for a bit…

the Macan is a let down from a Taycan Turbo anything - but that's a very very high bar - it's way way way way better than virutally _ANY_ gas SUV…
I would expect it to beat virtually any gas SUV. The question is more how many EV SUV does it beat? :)

Dave already has more miles than Kyle's car did. Kyle's car had 430 miles when he started, it's visible early in the video. Dave also has 20s to Kyle's 22s.

40.2kWh/100mi/ 119 miles / avg speed 72? Ouch.
