Guys I dunno in the USA but with my keylessgo I leave simply my key in the poket and car unlock when I’m nerby and loks automatically when I walk away. I also don’t need to touch particular parts of the door handle to lock or unlock….

Yes, and I hate that behavior when at home.
Fortunately, you can disable that in the Macan, and you need to touch the handle to open, and touch a little area on the handle to close the car. Very effective IMO!

Does the Macan have a geolocation feature like my previous Tesla Y to automatically disable the auto-lock feature when at home or other specifically designated locations?

I got chips and mirror close on lock. It's buried in the setup screens. One of my few complaints is the GUI is more complex than it needs to be. Partly do to the "Germish" translations for functions. They could do a little better with how functions are labeled in English so it makes more common sense when looking for things.

Regarding the phone as a key, I'd like both a fob and the ability to use my phone. Best of both worlds and I won't worry when the app crashes or an Apple update kills it.

I’m looking forward to this. The comfort entry works on the passenger side, but it doesn’t work on the driver side. I have to use the key, and the “walk up, walk away” thing only works when walking away, locking, on the passenger side (and walking up doesn’t work on either side). My Macan 4 is at the dealer where they will attempt to repair it. I’m dreading the amount of tear down necessary to fix this.

Yeah, got all that set but no options for any sounds. No sound when I lock with a fob either. And also wasnt with my ICE Macan either. If yours definitely 'chirps', could you send me a photo of the option where you set it to make a sound...? I really want this now! :)
I think it is just for the US market, where all the cars "chirps" when locked. And it something I am missing on my Macan, honestly, especially since I'm just walking away from the car and most of the times I do not look back.

My son recently got a Mini Cooper SE EV John Cooper style (great car, a lot of fun to drive and absolutely top for quality, technology and infotainment). It does open and close not only with the iPhone in the pocket, but also if I just wear my Apple Watch Ultra, and it works at least a couple of meters away from the car. So, if this will be the case (hopefully) for the Macan as well, I will have a double virtual key (almost) always with me!

Also mine opens with my Rolex: when I threw my gold Rolex toward the side window I got access to the car without any problem......
seriously:what will happens when apple watch or phone can open the car and you've also remote access via car key?

What do you think it should happen? The car will unlock the doors…. The good news (if it will ever have the phone as a key feature) is that we will have more ways to do it.

The Porsche App on your phone does have a key feature. The bottom row middle symbol.
I used it to lock/unlock the car. I presume after unlocking, you can drive off 🤔

for me it just unlocks the vehicle - it does not alone allow the vehicle to start and be driven - but you can provide access to the interior.

I’m not so convinced, either watchPhone or key. Having two different devices that contemporaneously send a signal open/closed I think will interfere with the system. I’m using the keyless go and I’m satisfied with it but it happened a couple of times with opening the frunk via gesture after closing the frunk car will not close automatically therefore I was obliged to press the button on the key and once returned back car opened but Inhad a loro of electronic malfunction no signal detection no I phone connection no elictric sound no automatic parking and a lot of other secondary stuff I was able to drive and have full power but after a couple of KM stopped the car turned it off with the left button, car closed automatically when I went out waited just a ‘cup of espresso’ turned back and after a couple
Of minutes drive all the alarms I had turned off….

phone as a key should _NOT_ replace your FOB's - it should always be an "option" in addition/opt-in-alternative to FOB's

personally I'm all for "one less thing" to carry - and like any modern lemming I'm going to always have my phone with me - so if it can also be my vehicle's secure-Key-FOB bring it on!

frankly there is too much teeth-nashing over this and too much FUD - trust me having lived with phone-as-key for 4+ years with Tesla - it "just works" and doesn't cause any new problems - and frankly I've had more problems with my Porsche FOB's than I ever had with my phone and FOB's are far from a panacea

but I get it - if you don't want to use phone-as-key - fine - do not use it. It should be and most likely will be an _OPTION_ - so if you want to give into your personal or other people's FUD - great - just skip using this feature…

for me in 2025 this is a modern feature that is almost table stakes minimum required tech these days…it's embarrassing we don't have it across the VW/Audi/Porsche product lines as an option…

and all my friends that own cars that can do it also would not go back - buddy loves phone-as-key for his BMW Hybrid-X5…

I'd be fine even with Porsche charging for it like electric sports sound - that way people who fear it can avoid using and feel smug that they saved money doing it.

but honestly it's not an issue and works really really well.

By the way, phone key is secure.
It did ask for my pin (which I have) and finger/thumb biometric after that.
I'm curious whether I can drive off after unlocking, without the physical key on me.
Will try soon to check it out.
