The technical issue is not surprising, but the tone deaf letter sure is (not unlike a lot of responses here on the issue saying "it doesn't matter to me, so why should it matter to you?")

They are confident it will meet everyone's needs? It is actually the appropriate solution and the joke is on you for ordering and equipping your garage accordingly? I can't imagine saying that to one of my customers - it would be sorry, we are out of options to solve this and here is the full amount of your money back for that option - period.

Yeah, that tone is 100% corporate-out-of-touch speak. I'd be ashamed if my company sent that out.

On the topic itself: I looked at some cars with 19 or 22 kW options, but in the end, I realized that that doesn't move the needle *for me* because it's still "hours" in case I need a full charge -- 3 hours vs 6 hours doesn't really matter *to me*. I'm sure there exist people for whom it could matter though.

Separately, even if I could get the 22 kW (and, let's be honest, I would if I could, just because it's the bigger number!) -- I'd want some option to charge slower when normally plugged in, because overnight is overnight and being nicer to the battery is better...

I'm curious why the 22kW chargers are no longer available. Were there technical or safety problems? If so I would expect a recall.

I also know that VAG had problems with the wiring harnesses for some of their vehicles coming from the Donbas area of Ukraine, which Russia has seized and largely destroyed. They had to find alternative suppliers for these components.
