I am not sure whether this is the right place (section of the forum I mean) to ask this question...

Basically, the question is: should I opt for InnoDrive, or not?
Sub-question: Does this bring speed-warning-sounds to the car and if so, can those be turned off?

Background to my question: I drove a Nio ET7 for a short while. What made me go crazy were the speed warning "ding-dongs" that happened all the time.
And I could not find out how they could be turned off. I don't even drive fast, but the system often failed to read (or know by navigation map) the correct speed.
So f.e. on the Autobahn (German highway) there was a speed limit of 120km and the car ding-donged me as soon as I went over 80 for about 20 minutes.
I don't want this experience again.

Does that mean I have to stay away from InnoDrive?

I am especially interested in answers from owners in Europe / Germany, as the laws might be different here. Meaning: if an option can be switched off in the US it does not necessarily mean it can be switched off in Europe as well...

Thank you for your support!

I guess I should have posted it to the "General" section ... Sorry!

Innodrive is a must have for longer trips. it works nearly perfectly on the highway. I drove 750km in one day and used it 90% of the time, not one failure. Arrived on vacation relaxed as can be.

you can deactivate the speed limit warning - you even can map it on one button at steering wheel. Nothing to worry about here.

The speed warning sound is independent of Innodrive and is mandatory on all EU new cars. It can be switched off each time you drive and you can create a shortcut or use My Porsche Honescreen and add a tile there.

Innodrive is not essential imho and suggest to try before you buy.

Innodrive for long trips is game changer and totally worth it.

Speed ding dings can be set on or off

with innodrive you don’t really need them anyway.

hope they continue to develop. The full on self driving Tesla has is interesting and useful to some.

but i find the lane following on highways is super useful and I hope Porsche adds what Rivian added the lane changing.

Lane following and lane changing is a great combo for long trips. Saves energy for driving on fun roads.

Thank you all very much! This was all very helpful!

InnoDrive gets added to the list. :like:
I agree, InnoDrive is one option I would not skip after having mine for 4 months. If you do some traveling it is well worth it. If it mostly for local driving it could be something you could skp. I love it.

I use it for short commute back home during rush hour and traffic jam. It’s great! But agreed not necessarily for everybody

For the benefit of any UK drivers who are using this question to inform their own purchases - innodrive is still not fully functional in the UK as the road sign recognition still doesn’t work. Very frustrating, and there are several other threads on the forum about it. I’m jealous of those in other countries and you guys above who have a working extra, as so far mine has had to be turned off as it’s quite dangerous 🙁
