So which are you going with? 22 inch?
Macan Design 21” I think, it’s the only 21” I like.
And not convinced it’s worth splurging on 22” RS Spyder - and lose even more on ride comfort.

I've decided to give up my allocation to wait for the next round, in part because I'm hoping there may be a car to drive in August when the next allocation is likely to lock (my speculation on timing). I'm also concerned about ride quality so I've been spec'ing the 21s but, admittedly, I do like the 22 Exclusive wheels with the HGB paint adder. If I could convince myself that ride quality is not taking a big hit going from 21 to 22, I might splurge for the 22s. As you say, when you're spending 6 digits on a Porsche, there needs to be some sex appeal (not that my wife will notice...).

I really wanted a launch vehicle, right now it’s an August allocation with October delivery. Close enough.

Heard about the price increase on MY25 and also wanted to ensure a CCS port - although at this point, who knows when/if Porsche and others will still go with NACS.

There’s of course the argument of MY25 devaluating less than a MY24 (especially it being such a short MY) and bugs potentially being ironed out in subsequent years… plus the ability to test drive it before taking the plunge.

But as the saying goes, *a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush*. Rolling the dice on this one, hoping for the best based on the very enthusiastic first reviews all around.

You've heard something definitive about a price increase for MY25? I expect something but even my dealer said it could be just inflationary, could be zero.

Nothing definitive, but 2 different dealerships said it would increase.

Was it just a trick to make a sale, don’t know… it doesn’t look like they are having a hard time selling the allocations they have. But they also not know what they’re taking about (wouldn’t be a first). 🫠

Looks much better than the Turbo.
Missing the Turbonite crest though. 😏
I think this will look even better with the Turbonite crest.

This exercise of studying the images/videos has been useful. I am starting to lean towards the Macan Design wheel. My initial reluctance with this wheel is that it looks a lot like the Taycan Turbo Aero wheel which I've seen in person and didn't like. But the Macan Design wheel is closer to the Taycan Turbo Aero S wheel which, while similar to the Turbo Aero, somehow looks better. I think it's the closed triangles that somehow ruins the Turbo Aero wheel.

Here is the Taycan Turbo Aero S wheel:

I like the look of the 20 inch turbo’s on these pictures, I already had decided to stick with them for range, as you loose 30km with any other choice. Also the noise and softer ride will be welcome.

Yes, the 22 RS SPYDER wheels are very expensive and reduce the range by around 10% and can even make the car more uncomfortable....but the truth is that they are really beautiful e makes the car …so amazing. IMO and these are the ones to go !
In my opinion, the choice to make is clear...you can save your money and end up with the most horrible 20" rims (despite all the advantages they may have)...they are still ugly!
....or if we are going to spend some money on some rims it would never be on the 21 rims, the right choice and one that I will never regret is choosing the fabulous 22 RS SPYDER rims! ...the car looks beautiful…are very expensive but at least you know where you are spend your every cent or penny !

I understand folks quandary for sometimes to me range is super important, but when it comes to having wheels that I really like, I will give up some range for the wheels I want.

Having owned a pure EV for a while, I have never had a range issue because on road trips I plan ahead (with a back-up site) and when doing local driving my level 2 in my garage works so well.

I will be going with the Exclusive Design 22”’s.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, for me the spyder rims scream 80’s they really look out of date on todays EV cars, it’s combining 2 styles from different era’s. Wish you had the option to have the silver part of the standard rims in turbonite though 🤷‍♂️

This is an interesting observation and I tend to agree that there is a somewhat retro look to the RS wheels that seems out of place with the modern lines and proportions of the Macan. They are beautiful wheels but, to my eyes at least (purely subjective), they don't work as well as say the 22 inch Exclusive with high gloss black paint option. I really hope to test drive a vehicle with the 22 inch wheel options before locking my build. While I prefer the look of the 22 inch wheels, I'm worried about harshness on our our poor road surfaces. My current config. is for 21 inch wheels, either the Turbo or the Design.

It will be good when a bunch of us get to drive it on 22” wheels with their 35 ratio rear sidewalls. The 20“ wheels have a 45 sidewall; the 21”’s have a 40 ratio — and as we all know the lower the sidewall ratio the less the tires can absorb road irregularities.

Personally with my wife and I liking a stiffly sprung car (such as our C8 Z06 and its 25 ratio rear sidewalls), so no doubt that the Macan’s ride will be fine for us on 22’”s, but I get it that each of us wants something different from our car and if you have bad roads in your area, the 22“wheels might be too much.
