Hi everyone,
was hoping to get some advice about a rattle I’ve observed recently.
I scheduled a service appointment for this week after I started hearing a rattle last week coming from the dashboard. it sounds like a loose part or screw has fallen off and is rolling around.
the rattle is really hard to reproduce. I’m guessing most of the time, it’s stuck in a rut or something. When it’s freely rolling around it’s super obvious, like I’ll make a turn and I can hear it rolling for like 2-3 seconds from one side to the other.
here is my question: since I haven’t found a way to reliably reproduce the rattle, i was wondering if there’s anything I do to prepare for the service visit?
additionally, how firm should I be with the service center if they cannot reproduce the issue and is unwilling to help resolve the issue? If my theory is correct that there’s a fully loose part in the dashboard, it should be easy to identify if they open up the dashboard — the problem is that they told me it’s a very complicated process to open the dashboard and so will need to hear a rattle first.
thanks in advance!
