The car will have an immobiliser by default and so anything you do with PVTS is in addition.

The "+" simply means that the 2 drivers cards (fobs) that you got with the car can be activated and paired to the car for the additional feature set.

When activated you must keep the the fob with you when driving or moving the car otherwise a silent alarm will be triggered to Vodafone. Leaving the card in the car deactivates the service.

Silent yes but noticable as the PCM tells you that fob/tag is not present usually followed by a phone call. With it no longer integrated and being a standalone notifications are sent by text. Haven’t had it long enough too see if you have low battery alerts.

I was told the + is a fake industry term and S5 is the recognised category. It's unclear to me if + means two ADR cards as the description doesn't state how many cards you get.

However the PVTS and PVTS+ has a main difference in terms of vehicle shut down which the company i called said doesn't work on EV's (as per previous post) so that indicates is the reason for the +..

Anyway, decided to potentially get the Vodafone S5 installed. Will stick with steering lock for now..

Ask Porsche website explains the difference but I think in UK we just get "+" (ADR cards) or PVTS basic is no longer sold.

Porsche couldn't explain the differences and told me only porsche dealers could do it.

Trackerfit said this is not true and installed in lots of Porsches and NEVER had warranty issue as it's only because the exclusive factory install agreement they had on UK cars for Taycan ended due to the one off cost and lack of take up.

So now on Macan they mark them up as a dealer fit option !

I'll probably now wait until my insurance renews with my post theft premium included - last time i asked about "tracker" discount they told me if i had a tracker it was £50 more expensive so feel like they are making it up!
