Battery Pack break-in

to date no data has come to light that would refute the basic tenant of "relax and learn to love your LiON cells" - there really is nothing _YOU_ can do to the battery…

Will only doing DCFC for the first year have significant impact on the battery? I’m a cheap-ass so planning to only use EA free charging

I usually charge 40-80% and usually the battery temp gets up to 105-110F. Makes me feel bad, like it got a fever

I’ll fall back to home charging next year and onwards though

Two issues to add to your excellent discussions and this post;

(1) Stanford research (if I recall this correctly) found that fast discharging (drive it like a Porsche) slightly improved battery performance.

(2) Macan information from Porsche stated the vehicle will sometimes charge to 100% even if set to 80%. This happened to us a couple of times after our wild drive from North Carolina to PDX during the bomb cyclone. It may be a SOH check after some number of miles - we are now just below 6,000 miles.
