Hi,

Another week, another problem(s). I was listening to SiriusXM while stuck in traffic and then all of a sudden the sound cut. I thought it was just a signal quality issue with SiriusXM so I switched to the radio and there were no sounds. I had to change lane at one point and there were no sounds for the turn signals either. I clicked on the Bose icon and the menu loaded but it was empty (just a blue background with no Bose configuration options). I powered off the car, exited it to plug it in then came back in, powered it up but no luck. I also reset the PCM (20-ish second volume dial press) but it did not fix the radio. Anything else that I can check? Maybe the fuse? I was listening at low volumes so it's not like I was pushing it.

Another issue is that I had the surround view loaded for a bit while in traffic. It quit the surround view, and then the surround view button in the parking menu was greyed out.

Any ideas on how to get the Bose working? It looks like communication with it is not working since the Bose menu was empty as well. I guess a little over 2 weeks is a record without an issue with this car? (Sorry, just really frustrated at the lack of quality on a car this expensive despite Porsche being recognized for reliability. I'll get over it).

EDIT: Apologies I should have searched the forum for info:

Bose sound stopped working | Macan EV Forum, News, Info - MacanEVowners

I will try this at noon and let you know the result.

I have been driving my Porsche Machan Turbo since 3 October 2024 and for 14,000 km without any software problems!
So have your dealer done his homework updating the car before delivering it to you?

That's definitely encouraging to know! I will ask the dealer what was done. All manufacturers charge the transport and preparation fee, let's see if they actually prepared the car correctly!

Hi,

The power-cycling fixed it! Love this forum! Let's see how long it goes until the next power cycle is needed (hopefully never again!).

I had a similar issue. A single factory reset fixed it. Zero issues since.

Hi, there is a power connector on the Bose subwoofer in the trunk. I unclipped the connector, waited a few seconds then plugged it back in. I am assuming it's power, might be a communication bus. That fixed the issue.

Hi,

The issue happened again yesterday, 4 months later. All sound cut out while I was on a call in the car. I could not access the Bose configuration menu (it just goes blank) either. At the same time, I got all kinds of advanced drive assist warnings on the cluster, and then the PCM rebooted itself. I power cycled the Bose twice (while waiting a minute or 2 in between) but it did not recover right away. On the third attempt, I unplugged the power connector, locked the car then came back to it about 1.5 hours later. Sounds was back, no assist warnings etc. All is good again.

It looks like either some power spike or communication bus issue that completely messes up the non-critical car systems until everything reboots/restarts itself. I feel like I should submit this to Transport Canada because completely losing sound and assist systems is a safety issue (no more audible warnings of any kind). Maybe that will force Porsche to take this issue seriously.
