back in early 25' my dealer let me take home a turbo with Burmester and base 4 with Bose, and I think the Bose was fantastic but Burmester sold me instantly. I think the tweeters on the pillars helps a lot just by positioning. I do think it is overpriced tho. I wish Burmester was available on all 911s

My dealer said "it wasn't worth the money" to upgrade over the Bose, which is subjective, but I took that advice. I wish now that I kept the upgrade, I don't think the Bose system in the Macan is that great for a premium car.

I also find the sound level too low, so I end up cranking the volume to ~75% for 'normal' listening. In my M5 with HarmanKardon, it has plenty of punch and good sound level at ~50% volume, much higher and you will have ringing in your ears afterwards (like being in a night club )!

I found adjusting the equalisers on the Bose really helped alot (currently on +2 Treble and +4 Bass, on the Surround setting).

Thanks. I will keep tweaking them and report what I find. I also read elsewhere that it takes a few hours of playing music to 'stabilise', but I don't know why that would be. Did you notice any change after several hours of playing music?

The idea of a "break in" period is pretty common in HiFi, from home theater to headphones. Essentially, the moving parts and material of a speaker, from the diaphragms/cones, suspension foam, etc, need time to loosen up and stabilize.

For what it's worth, I did notice an improvement with my burmester system after several hours of listening. Some of my initial complaints with it have gone away.

Mine said the same. I do feel that either I'm getting used to it or the Bose has broken in a bit and it sounds better. However, my 2007 3 Series still sounds better with its Logic 7 system (13 speakers and a sub under each seat). For me, increasing the bass helped for my preferences on the Bose.

That said, I may try this upgrade at some point, unless something better comes along.

There’s an old post in here somewhere in which I panned the Bose. Immediately after taking delivery, I drove the Macan several hundred miles from the Experience Center to my home. On the way, the music was truly horrible. Yet later some days or weeks later, the system began to sound as I expected. The improvement was dramatic.

I can just totally confirm what the Review says. The Burmester system is absolutely outstanding in my opinion. Some people have complained about a lack of bass, but if you push that up in the settings, there is plenty of that. And very defined and punchy.
