Charging at Tesla Destination Charger... Not quite working. Anyone experience this?

So... Porsche app shows charging being initiated, then bombs out.

I have tried this with the J1772 adapter provided by the hotel, and my own adapter, same results.

Any suggestions?

The charger shows green, then a blue flashing light.

the Tesla charger/EVSE might be set to Tesla only…or vin restricted - or just that one doesn't work

I charge everyday with one of those chargers - but sometimes there are just hic ups
try resetting the Tesla charger if you can - if that doesn't work it's probably nothing you're doing wrong and it's jsut that charger for some reason.

Flashing blue means charging process paused due to programmed departure time. Use Direct Charging to ignore the departure time.

but the red button on the car means "fail" - try direct charging to see if it "jsut works"

There is one more thing you can try: before inserting the plug, on the Charging screen, go to Settings (the Gear icon) and enable Compatibility Mode to disable encryption for the communications with the charger.

That option doesn't stick, so during the next charging session Compatibility Mode will be off again.

I tried... No change.

Unfortunately, even after deleting / reinstalling the Porsche app, it continues to bomb out when charging at EA chargers.

if you can't charge at Tesla destiantion and EA chargers I'm thinking you need to have the car inspected by dealer - seems to have problems with the vehicle…might need some warranty work.

Barry41561 have you tried both charge ports? The picture shows the right one, but the left should also work.

I did try both ports, and tried both with my Lectron adapter, and the hotel adapter.

I can charge at EA chargers, but the Porsche app is not working properly, so I need to call EA each time I need to charge.

If you install the certifcate then you don't need to mess with the app. At EA I just plug in and let Plug & Charge work its magic.

No problem so far charging new Macan Electric 4 on my Tesla wall charger (same as a ‘destination charger’) using Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Adapter/250V/48 Amp. Runs a little slower than Model Y or Model X but that’s okay overnight.
