Child Lock Malfunction Notification

Have this persistent notification for a couple of days. I have booked a service appointment but wondered if this a known issue with a fix I could deploy myself. Depressing the child lock button

does not seem to engage it (no light comes on) but hear a click from the rear passenger door. Haven’t been able to check if the rear doors open from inside. Also don’t hear the doors auto locking when in motion. Have reset the PCM and this didn’t help.

I have the same. Booked into the workshop early March. The funny thing is, if you slowly open the rear door from the inside it won’t open(no click/unlatch). If you do it quickly it just opens….

*Update*: Took the car in today. Lock mechanism needs replacing. Parts ordered and rebooked to complete job. First time I have had to take a brand new car less than a month in. A bit disappointed by this but otherwise car is great.

I've had this issue as well now. Came from knowhere. Strange that a few of us have had this malfunction. Wonder if its a common problem that they are aware of. Out of interest, how long did the fix take at the dealer? Hope it got resolved ok.

My party are deleted one day. So the dealer says. Let’s hope this is correct. The rearview cam was fixed by a hard reset of it. Removing the fuse

I had the same issue on the day I picked the new car up (happened at the dealer). They replaced the rear door locks and all is ok since then

Took them a couple of hours to run the diagnostics. Was advised that parts likely to take 2wks to arrive. They wanted the car left with them so rebooked at the end of this month when a loan car was available. Not sure how long it would take if you wanted to wait at the dealership. I am the only one using the car most of the time but if I had rear passengers all the time this would have been really annoying. Hope the parts are in when I go back in.

Hi all, just an update on this in case anyone else has the same issue. I was just passing Porsche Teeside and popped in to charge a bit. Chancing my luck and asked if an engineer could see if there was a quick fix to this. Top chap popped out and straight away took out a grommet on the rear door on the drivers side. A slight turn of the lock and it was fixed. Said he’s seen a few and it doesn’t need the locks replacing. Just a 30 second job. Very happy I just stopped by now as saved me a 2 hour round trip to my nearest Porsche dealer when home.
