Did anyone option the air filtration system? Opinions?

Have it optioned and run it almost all the time irregardless of air quality outside. It's it's quite effective for smells and as others mentioned there is a discernible difference in dust levels when I forget to turn it on for a day or two. The piano black surfaces' great dust indicator!

Does anyone know if the actual filter is different (presumably better) if you get this option or is it the same filter but this is just a software option to turn the system when it gets ripe outside?

It uses an ioniser, so different filter and filters out PM2.5… and comes with air quality sensors inside and outside of the vehicle. There’ll be a physical control to turn it on as well right next to the climate control.

I have it optioned on my 2026 Macan 4, coming in March. As the only Hardware difference appears to be the ionizer, I don’t expect any different costs for maintenance. I had opened the Ionizer on my 2020 Taycan and required no maintenance in 5 years used virtually all the time.

Ok that helps thanks. I guess I was wondering also if the quality of the filter was better..such as a high quality HEPA

I Have it but you don’t have to manually enable it, right? I did not press the button once since I have the car assuming it will enable it automatically when measuring bad values?
Anyway, I also hoped it had an option to add nice refreshing smell cardirdges like in a Audi Q7 but it’s just the quality of the air.
