I am planning on having a uniden r8 radar detector hard wired to my new Macan ev turbo. Could that void the card manufacturer warranty?

Why not just follow the speed limit, it is safer?
🤔

By US law a warranty is only voided from aftermarket modifications for specific issues caused by those modifications.

So if you hardwire it and mess something up, your warranty won't cover it. But it doesn't void your entire warranty.

Ie.. you install a radar detector but your battery has a defective cell. That repair is still covered under warranty.

However if while installing your radar detector (or later), a short emanates from it, causing related circuits not related to the main battery system to short, partially melt a wire bundle, or worse, those directly repeated repairs would be on you. But that is why fuses are always used to protect from such things. To me, with care, caution, and a fuse(s) used,, I would proceed ahead with your plan.

However, I have never in over 2.5M miles ever had a radar detector. Not that I haven’t gotten a rare speeding ticket (always deserved), but just my choice.
