You are absolutely right about the marginal gains you may get between a 150 and a 270 kW charging session and it is also highly variable considering outside and battery temperatures…..
I may have understood it wrong but I once read that a Supercharger at 400V may be as low as 50 kW. That makes a big difference….. It also seems debatable that the new V4 superchargers will be able to charge at 800V. And up here, we will be that las t to see these one in f=unction and there is still no Superchargers equipped with the Magic Dock.
The CCS1 infrastructure here in Québec is overwhelming. Good speeds, good locations, good service and stations are well-maintained: https://lecircuitelectrique.com/en/
I have a Tesla tap for Tesla Destination chargers but only used it 2-3 times in the 4 years I have owned my Taycan (Macan Turbo actually crossing the Atlantic sea on the SFL Composer). I am also considering buying an A2Z CCS1 to NACS, especially if I’ll go down south of the border…..
But I will not shy away from the NACS transition. I hear Porsche maybe transitioning in 2026. I read that Le Circuit Électrique is also installing new charging stations with NACS connectors. But as of now, I will receive a Macan Turbo equipped with a CCS1 connector…. And I will have fun with it!
ps: beside Le circuit Électrique and all its partners, we also have your cousin Electrify Canada with decent coverage in western and eastern Canada….
