Hi to all.My experience with hand gestures on cars is they are all a bit hit and miss. Maybe just my experience. I tend to go to the key rather than bother.
No door problems. Was not expecting soft close since it was not on the spec and my doors seem to close well. Maybe needs some tweaking at the dealer.
Rattles. - Not acceptable and I do think the dealer should address rattles. Others have had them fixed.
My rocker seems fine, maybe I just have adjusted to the pressure needed to engage
Greatly appreciate the Macan EV Community‘s (irrespective of which model) posts. I read them all as I find them very informative versus trying to read the manual ? as effectively Porsche wanted to launch the Macan EV after learning from the their 1st EV…. Thank you all for sharing and educating members like me!
I was among those who naively awaited the “long test period of >1 year of debugging the Taycan EV thinking that the Brand’s decision to start “commercial launch” was based on convincing conclusions. So, I naively placed my order in with other “fortunate” brand loyalists who wished to be in the first week(s) of official production for the US market. ??????
? Naive of me. Not maliciously, am sure, but effectively, I ended up being a “Live Beta Testing volunteer”.
Sadly, like many (not all thankfully) I experienced shocking glitches starting with the 12v Battery’s lack of feed off the main battery which may be virtually “fully charged”, plus a gremlin that wiped out all my codes and we had to break into my car as the standard feature of the key off the vin number plate in the windshield couldn’t unlock the car due to dead 12v plus codes wiped out.
That said, following 1st flat bed to the dealershi, 3 of the total 4 trips to the dealer I drove the car to the dealer. Following 30+ days of Porsche loaners, my car seems to be operating properly ???.
As we hoped and know, when it’s working it’s amazing. My mileage is terrific between suburban, city (NYC) rush hour, and highway speed long distance commutes of over 130 mile stretches, including very very cold winter weather we’ve experienced in the NE USA.
Most of our Macan EV cars are made by Porsche in Slovakia, not in either of the main German facilities we’ve learned to love for how our ICE Porsches re flawlessly assembled otherwise.
Whilst I’m not experiencing any of the rattles amply noted in this thread, nor the park vs drive lack of parking my car (*), I share the spotty functionality of the back trunk opening when standing arms full of things and keys in pocket, hoping it’ll open.
While I’d love it to always work, I’ll take this vs inability to unlock and enter my care 1,000% of the time.
I join those who recommend Dealer drop offs under warranty to repair the squeaks. Those are unacceptable quality faults for the Porsche brand.
Where they chose to build the cars it’s their choice. However, the seamless and consistent build quality standard for a Porsche is nonnegotiable!
Fingers crossed all our cars unlock and we can turn on everything and drive to our desired destination as/when we wish or need to! ?
