if you trade-in then I would say PPF is not worth it. If you sell private party then it might be in your favor
Agreed! PPF may make a tiny difference when trading in, because the car is probably going to be in better condition than the average trade-in, but it won't be enough to compensate for the PPF you paid 😄

it is a rabbit hole as a subject - as there are a million different products and approaches.

Personally - a decent polish (when required) and High Quality Wax every 3 months.
If you wash it correctly (2 bucket, PH neutral etc) this should provide the protection needed. I personally enjoy spending a day giving the car some TLC.

My Goto products atm are Autoglym polar blast snow foam, Autoglym Shampoo, maguires ultimate polish (or compound as the car gets older), Autoglym UHD Wax, Anglewax on the glass. With some Autoglym polar seal as my finish for in between washes.
Had my last car ceramic coated -
It is very good if you don’t have the time.
