Charge ports opening was not my concern in our first high-tech touchless car wash - the frunk hood opening was! The wash was so powerful it triggered the hood open but would not let it pop up - the hood caught the safety latch but allowed a ton of water into the frunk.
They should have a wash mode for both the frunk and ports if equipped. Since they donā€™t I would deactivate frunk hand gesture option before washing. I have manual ports so no issues for me there. Makes me wonder if you spray the trunk underside if you can tigger the trunk open? lol. My solution..hand wash šŸ˜œ

I agree with you on the wash mode. That is my main point. Maybe if all owners complain Porsche will ā€˜eventuallyā€™ have an update that will include one. I canā€™t imagine it would be that difficultā€¦

Onlt problem about the hand wash suggestion is as you must know, when you live in Canada (or certain areas of the world) hand washing in the winter simply isnā€™t an option.

Yes I have a power washer and set it on a light spray. Admittedly I live on Vancouver island and we get a week of snow all year so yeah anywhere else would be an unpleasant handwashing experience.

Lock the doors, and then if the key remains in proximity, push lock and unlock at the same time until the porsche badge on the key fob flashes. This turns off communication to the car. This way the doors won't unlock and allow the charge port doors to open. When ready to go, just hit the unlock button on the key fob and everything should be back to normal.
Caveat, this is how it works on my Taycan and works well, would love to hear confirmation that it works on the Macan.

Iā€™ve also checked the notice: nothing about how to disable the comfort access for the frunk and the charge ports. Just generic stupid advice about how to wash the car.
We should ask for Christmas a rfid boxā€¦
