I created my own Porsche iOS app

I was impressed by the info available from the Porsche Connect API and used by this Porsche Insights project and decided to create my own Porsche iOS app.

The official Porsche app isn't bad, but it buries a bit of the info I really enjoy, and is also missing small iOS widgets. Anyway 24 hours later and I have it working pretty well. To Porsche's credit the API is pretty comprehensive and I have not really seen anything missing from the API that is surfaced in the official app. I have not yet tried testing interactive features like Direct Charging and Preconditioning etc. It's also super responsive and the data is at least as up-to-date as the offical app, a lot of that depends on your iOS app background refresh and widget timeline policies too.

We even have themes, turbonite logos as an option, and model names in Porsche script!

Here are some screenshots of what it looks like so far after 24hrs (actually less) of work...I doubt I'll ever release it though.

I would really like it if someone added the ability to track charging at the super charger, ho wmany KW totals by month year, life time, and costs and a seperate bucket for hoem charging, same daily/weekly/month/lifetime.

Support for 3rd party chargers, like Autel (for me) and others that offer an API, Electrify USA/Can, Tesla etc. - Id even buy an app that did this all, and send me a PDF report for taxes every month for charges, total KM driven by day/date, week/month, year & Life time, and then the ability to classify the trips, business personal, driving the kids around, (running from mad with chainsaw) etc.

Basically, one app, to do everything.... that would be worth some money to me...

Thanks, I'd want to add some further polish and test it fairly throughly before attempting release, and I'm not too sure Apple app review and Porsche would like it, but you never know, even though I'd only ever release something like this as a completely free app.

For what you're talking about Claude Code could likely whip that up fairly quickly...if you're so inclined I'd recommend giving it a go as a standalone HTML+JavaScript page that has multiple API feeds.

Question, I would love to see a per trip section where besides how many km’s driven and energy used a start and stop percentage of the battery level. Is that something the API logs?

It does log how many kWh were consumed and the start and stop time, but it does not appear to record starting and ending SoC unfortunately.

One thing I am missing from the official app is the following:
- I plug it when I arrive home in the afternoon and I have it set up to charge only after midnight.
- I know that with the 8 hours I have set for charging is enogh to top up the charge that I normally need. However, sometimes the car starts charging well before midnight, in the ‘expensive hours’ of the day.
- When I notice this I select the pause charging in the app, but it does not allow me to continue charging afterwards.
- I have to physically unplug and plug again the charger to restart the charging.

I am using a Victron EV Charging Station. Do you think the problem is in the car, the Porsche app or the Victron charger?

Do you think that can be solved with the API and your new app?

yeah, that does look like.
as someone who used the standard mobile charger to charge, a way to see how many KhW i've charged would be nice!
I don't want to have to buy a new charger just for that information... (i use android too btw, so an app for them would be nice)

Just using the standard Porsche Connect auth as used in the other project mentioned above. It works pretty seamlessly.

I’ve been working on the app over the weekend and it’s getting pretty refined actually. I’ll post some updated screenshots a bit later on.

Thank you very much! After knowing that it was possible to use their APIs I managed to set up an openclaw skill really quickly and it works really well!

PS for the clima API, I could not find it in that project, but I found it here (in case it might be useful for your app as well) https://github.com/CJNE/pyporscheconnectapi

Also since you are making an iOS app you might find useful this Swift library which I found but could not test since I was working with openclaw on Linux https://github.com/wtpalexander/porsche-connect
