Is chrono plus really necessary on the Turbo?

could for example be used for a low suspension height version of normal mode for long range cruising.

(I don't have Sport Chrono). Just fyi, the car automatically lowers at highway speed regardless.

The chrono is not standard and I did not take it, even in normal mode and damp road I had the car drift a bit, I took off at a stoplight rather normal and the car next me started to accelerate more quickly, I could not contain myself and just pushed slightly more on the throttle and the car broke out very controlled but I was surprised that even in normal mode it did that … you have sport plus on suspension though …

Would I take it, well yes, it does not make sense not to have it on the turbo, the battery heating is a nice plus as you can then manually pre heat the battery … not for the stoplight sprint as it takes ages to warm up …

I'd missed that you can do this with Chrono Plus optioned - I had thought there was no way to manually initiate battery conditioning on the Macan.

No you can’t but I thought that with the chrono plus package the battery will be heated in sport plus, or do I have that wrong?

Whether it does or not, that isn't "manually" preheating the battery. It would be a side effect of putting the car in Sports Plus mode. "Manually" preheating the battery would only be if there is a dedicated button which activates preheating, like there is in my i5. It's madness that there isn't a similar function on Porsches.

"Sport Plus mode with performance-oriented chassis tuning, Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) and temperature control of the battery"​

Perhaps this might be referring to better battery cooling and not heating? Or maybe this mode brings the battery to a better temp for aggressive usage whether that is heating or cooling?

I hope it is also heating … these days my performance indicator is really low, and when I fast charge, the battery is warm and the performance is nuts …

Yeah I know, but I really hope it also includes heating, like in a Tesla, these days my performance of the turbo is limited, but when I fast charge it’s a rocket … the difference is day and night. Yeah it’s not manually pre heating in the true sense, I know that but if it heats you can use it as pre heating.
My iX can even pre heat the battery from the app, today I needed to charge both (my home charger is broken)the iX charged way quicker then the Macan, as I could pre heat it at home for 15 minutes so it charged like 50kw more powerful then the Macan, where I could only navigate to the charger that is rather close to home. Macan sucks in this regard …

I seem to remember a video (probably Kyle), where a Porsche engineer confirmed it has heating of the battery.

Based on owning a Taycan RWD and a Taycan GTS, I think the Macan Turbo charges slightly quicker. This is a rough observation. I even saw 272 kW being pulled from an Ionity last week, which I've never seen either of my Taycans achieve (around 265 kW being the highest figure observed). I also think the Macan holds the charge above 200 kW at a higher battery percentage than either Taycan.

Yeah, I received the software update in my i5 which allows me to preheat the battery from the app, amongst some other goodies.

@Yves and others:
Curious, can you actually perceive a differentiated level of performance (acceleration, I presume) with the battery toasty vs otherwise in acceptable but not really warm range. I hadn’t really noticed (or tested) that on my Turbo in my everyday use.
