Despite improved weather, the month was mixed. Longer trips have lowered the overall average, while shorter journeys were generally higher, with several exceeding 3 mi/KW. The typical commute is 21 miles at speeds over 70mph, with an average speed around 45mph. Drive Assist and regenerative braking were used in urban areas, seemingly with slightly better effectiveness. The average temperature must be in the 30s Celsius in the UK. It's unclear how some people are seeing more than 3+.

I’m wondering how comparing driving efficiency makes any sense given the wide range of operating conditions, equipment configurations, and driver traits. There seem to be so many confounding factors that reaching any conclusion is difficult, except perhaps in extreme situations.

I think a better answer would come from the compilation and analysis of a very large set of data across time, configurations and conditions. It could yield statistical data on fleet performance, but, as the saying goes, “your [personal] mileage may vary.”

I think tire pressure is as important as tire size. I am running 4 psi over on 21” Michelins. My June consumption was 3.4 mi/kWH and I’m at 3.7 so far this month.
