keeping car a/c on while running errands for family/pets in car?

I have a habit of running errands with a family member with me while I run into the store real quick, but when I close the driver door the whole car turns off even with the key in the car. how do I keep pcm awake and ac on for them while driver door is closed?

there's literally a button that shows in the screen asking you if you want to keep the car on, as soon as you put it in Park. (for me at least)

If youi're not getting that, you need to go into the setting to turn on that Prompt. i don't remember where it is...but there's definitely a setting.
as soon as you put it in park, it will ask if you want to leave the car running.
It will stay completely on for 30 minutes.

The thing to note here...is that will stay on at your next stop too......
Often I'll turn that option on at the store...and when i get home, i get out as usually...and as I'm exiting the garage, i hear the car is still on, or I come back to see the car is still on...That option will remain on till the car is turned off or the button is unchecked. so just be aware

beside the option to keep the car "on" which includes entertainment, windows and ac, there is the option in the AC menu to have the Ac on for 60 minutes. the same option you have in the app.

I think the only way is to lock it and then turn pre-climate on from the app. I believe the motion sensor stays on though.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of it will try it this morning. It's hot in the NM desert!

There seems to be confusion here.

On the Exit screen you can click the switch to leave the car running. This warns that the car is not locked AUTOMATICALLY. You can absolutely lock the car manually when you are outside the car

The pre climate is not required for any of this. Click the switch, exit the car, lock the car from the key. Job Done!

Do note that the car is running - navigation to a charger will continue to precondition the battery for best charging speeds
