I have the same cover, won’t post a redundant picture. Comes with little sticky half-domes you can put on each of the four buttons to make it easier to press them. The half-domes go on the fob and under the leather.

If you only ever use the Lock and Unlock buttons, you could put the half-domes on those buttons only.

This key fob I got is also very good, in real carbon fibre, extremely light. Premium looking, and feels great in hand. About £30.
First pic taken in bad light, but in real its far better.

I thought I would share some photos of the Leatherbrut key pouch. This wouldn’t normally be my first choice, but at the time, I couldn’t find a better alternative, so I went ahead and ordered it.


Now that hard shell cases are becoming available, I might consider switching to one in the future assuming I keep the car.

I opted not to attach the key ring as I dislike the extra bulk (I despise carrying the key as it is).

Just received my carbon fibre key casings today.

Fit is spot-on and snaps shut pretty convincingly (not worried it’ll fall/pop out). Also additional benefit that it gives the buttons a raised lip, so chances of accidental presses are much reduced.

Overall, I’m very happy.

This is 2025 - iPhone/Android key, Apple Watch key, or simple credit card key in the wallet. Lucid, Tesla, RIvian....no key.

At least make phone-keys an option. There is nothing cool or interesting about the Macan EV key fob.

I don't need a stupid phone or card complexity, just too unreliable and complex. I don't carry a smart phone or wallet out on a job. Give me a simple relatively indestructible and simple key FOB. Cars are too expensive as is....

Rivian can't even do car play, and owners of those examples are having significan issues with hackers and privacy,

You will carry a 2" plastic key fob "out on a job" but not a slim flexible key car with SSID chip? (which cost $22 to replace). That's how your key fob works. It has a chip in it.

Never had a single reliability issue with the iPhone key on wife's 2024 Highland Model 3 Tesla which she's had for over a year. Bulletproof. And when she loaned her Tesla to our daughter who was in town for the week, wife was able to give our daughter Tesla key privileges simply by sending her a text message invitation.

...but the point is not to make declarations about which method is "stupid" or not stupid. But rather to make it an option for those of us who no longer churn our own butter and would prefer to not carry a keychain. Our cars already have wide-band wi-fi which is how the phone-key works and wireless CarPlay. It would just be a software enabled thing.

I'm convinced Porsche just wants people to have their fob laying on the table at a bar or restaurant to further the luxury brand identification-marketing thing. So for those who prefer the plastic fob, they can still have it to show others.

I like the look and feel a lot. Only complaint is it does seem to affect the range of the key fob. I have to get a lot closer when pressing the button to open the trunk as an example.

Probably true.
My pant pockets contain exactly:
1. Phone
2. Wallet
3. Car key
The phone unlocks my office building and suite, too.
If the phone could be the car key, that'd save me some pocket bulk and make my suit pants look neater!
(And, yes, if the phone could be the wallet, too, that'd be even better, but we're not actually there yet.)

I’m not a huge fan of these overmold style ones.

I’ve been resisting just making one myself…
