Not sure if this is how it is supposed to work but the front looser bumper cooling vents are permanently open on my Macan. I had an Audi etron before and they were active only opening when needed.

Has anyone else observed this behavior?

Has anyone tried to see if these flaps could actually close themselves?
Maybe with tape or sewing thread?
Or maybe under cold weather, they close when you start the car?

I’m very curious about that behavior, because I think that the battery stays very cold even on the highway

There's a video on the Taycan forum showing them open / close.

Typically in cold weather the PAA should be open (frost protection) is my guess.

In any event I wouldn't waste any sleep over them. They do what they do.

They do what they do if they do what they were designed to do.
I mean, I don't understand why the battery temperature stays so low, starting at 9°C, and staying around that temperature, even with a high discharge rate (which usually generates heat in the battery due to chemical reactions).
And we know that the best battery temperature for efficiency is well above 10°C.
So are we sure they're doing what they're supposed to do?

I think it is partly due to the different battery chemistry when compared to the Taycan J1.1 - Macan EV and J1.2 have not only different battery arrangement & capacity but also a change in chemistry.

I recently drove 126 miles - cold day (3C), battery was 10C (underground parking) and maxed at 12C.

Either way I wouldn't worry.
