Hi, I'm browsing the market for 21" winter tires.
Noticed there is not much choice when you look for NE0 tires.
There is much more choice without NE0 homologation.
Question - is it really necessary (handling, warranty)?

I've used some non-BMW tires on high performance BMW and TBH wasn't happy with it.

are you looking to buy another set of wheels?
Cuz i wouldn't think you'd want to swap rubber on the OE wheels....
get another set of wheels at a lower diameter, like 18's or 19's, and put the winter tires on them.

i'm highly doubtful you'll find winter tires at the Macan's OE rim fitment. I think you'll have to size down...

Such winter tyres exist, Porsche even sells them themselves.
Going down one size can make sense but also means more $$ buying an extra set of rims.

I'm just hoping to swap rubber on 21" wheels.
There are a lot of choices for 255/45R21 and 285/40R21.
Just wondering if I have to pick ones with NE0 rating.

i personally would just buy another set of rims to keep the winter tires on. Therefore its something you could swap yourself instead of having to pay for the service of have the rubber swapped twice a year...and with each time, increasing the probably of the shop the damaging the wheels or the car...

Right but that’s just your preference - not his. And not what he’s asking for advice on either. 😉

@TomekGnomek- I would choose one of the options approved by Porsche, better safe than sorry.
