Our Turbo was the first Macan Electric delivered by PEC ATL and we expected to beat you to the west coast but we delayed in NC by a death in the family. We left left Kernersville 16 NOV and arrived in Portland,Oregon Friday, 22 NOV via I-80 & I-84.

The PCM routing and charge recommendations were amazingly useful and accurate. We stopped at sunset and took 7 days. We have 4,000 miles on our Turbo already.

The most surprising PCM recommendation was a TESLA SUPERCHARGER with MAGIC DOCKS in Haubstadt, Indiana. A local showed me how to press the button on the Tesla plug for two seconds and release the plug with the CSS adapter attached. Never thought I would have a Tesla account but I do now and the charge was perfect and fast - peaked at 225 kW and stayed higher and longer than most Electrify America chargers. I plan to order the Tesla adapter.

The one downside of the Tesla charger was it deselected Plug & Charge in our Macan. The next EA charge failed, including starting the charge from the My Porsche iOS app - had to pay for the charge with my EA app. The next EA Plug & Charge worked well. Elon would not do this on purpose, would he? šŸ˜‚
This is big news - up until now I believe we all assumed Macan would be limited to 150 kW @ North American superchargers!!! But the report above indicates a 225 kW charge rateā€¦

This means one of two things!
  1. Macan can support 250 kW charge rate @ 400V FastDC stations like superchargers!!
  2. the Superchargers in question can pump out an 800V charging session
This is super good news for eventually full supercharger access and means there is the potential of no performance penalty for using Superchargers!!

I'd love more reports and more testing from anyone at any supercharger station.

This is a link to the original posting - but I believe this sort of data deserves it's own thread!!

It is good news. Any word on when the adapter is available or is there a third party adapter that is already proven to work?

adapters are available - the issue remains "authorization" - you can only use Superchargers where your vehicle is "authorized" and at the moment Porsche's are only allowed at MagicDock sites where all CCS vehicle's are "authorized" - MagicDock provides the "adatper" as part of the stall at the site - so you don't need your own adapter - for most supercharger sites only GM, Rivian, Ford, Polestar are the only non-tesla's authorized for non-MagicDock sitesā€¦

the adatpers were _NEVER_ the true issue - it's always been a matter of "allowed access" - and that's always been a matter of negotiating with Tesla for access in North Americaā€¦

so we're still in a holding pattern until VW/Audi/Porsche/Scout follow through on the 2023 Press releaseā€¦

stay tunedā€¦there have been no updates other than the Dec. 2023 press release below to my knowledge - I welcome factual correction with attributionā€¦

https://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/...andard_in_future_electric_vehicles-34786.html

you'll note the report above is at a MagicDock site - of which there are some - but they are the minority vs. all the possible sitesā€¦

Ok thanks for that clarification. I will wait to hear about the support for non-magic dock sites. I donā€™t even know if we have magic dock sites in our area. Something for me to look into.
