How does one disable, temporarily, the parking sensors when a Bike Rack is in a hitch? I have tried to find how to do his but have not.

I cannot toggle the parking sensor sound in reverse as it won't let me.

In my 2016 Cayenne GTS there was a button to disable this, but I have yet to find something in the Macan for this.

Is the trailer detected by the trailer being plugged into the electrical connector? If so, there may be a plug in park sense defeat device on the market to use when you attach a bike or cargo rack (or a plug in vehicle circuit tester with integrated resistors compatible with European vehicles).

Yes it should be detected that way - that's how it worked on my Panamera and on my wife's Macan T and doubt therefore it would be any different on the Macan EV.

Anyone find a solution to this issue? I put a bike rack on my Macan 4S for the first time. As the OP mentioned, the parking sensor silence button is grayed out when driving in reverse so I had no way to stop the annoying beep.

I would imagine that having this plugged in will cause Trailer Mode to activate and adjust the reverse behavior.

The manual may not be useful here, as it also mentions on the relevant towing page that the engine loses power at altitude.

It would be nice to know what our cars actually do here from direct experience!

I notice there are two threads on the topic, my bad. I posted this in the other thread that references this one...

I was looking on eTrailer's and this seems to be a complain with many German made cars. The other complaint is lights out indications when using some trailers..

Folks seem to like this:

https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Wiring/CURT/C35FR.html

I picked one up and it works well. The Macan seems to detect a trailer present and the rear audible and visual proximity alarms are disabled.

There are some VWs and BMW that give a lights out fault indication and they recommend connecting up something like this to the adapter to defeat those. I haven't tried it.

BTW, Kody tech support offered to solder resistors in their 7 blade connector to make sure their lights defeats the alarm without needing an adapter.
