PCM Blackout

Alas PCM screen blacked out again today (car play on…aleays is) and turn signals were inoperative. Re-booted itself twice in a row. Traffic was dense and a nedded lane change missed. Getting a bit frustrated. Back it will go to shop. Less thsn 1400 miles on the clock. Don’t have any proof but I wonder if it’s car play related.

Just to add that twice now I got a blackout after ending a charging session. I was sitting in the car waiting for the session to complete at 85% and then left the door open while unplugging. After returning (within seconds) and slamming the door shut everything went blank. Pressing the start button brought things back instantly the first time. Opening and closing the door more gently brought things back instantly the second time.

This car had been flawless for near 2 months and 2000 miles. Perhaps she doesn't like rough handling

Thank goodness my service department is a good one. Car will go back but it’s not alone as they have several other customers…….y’all can guess the rest.

Drumroll. Got the PCM replaced as the one in vehicle was a turkey. Had a loner MecanEV for three weeks.

interesting...My dash hasn't gone out every...but since the update, The center screen has gone out multiple times...I do think this has something do to with Carplay too

You might want to ask your service rep? When the PCM went out the turn signals also were inoperative (until reboot). On interstate 80 w/ lots of traffic that was no dang good. Porsche Sacramento service department is first rate. They determined that there was a bad chip in the PCM.

If your PCM and screen in front of steering wheel go on/off a lot, that's a problem. Have you been a junior scientist and driven w/ your iPhone off?

I've never had any issue with the main screen. The PCM is the infotainment/center screen? that's the one that will remain dark at times. But i do remember the turns signals were fine.

i forgot to turn off AndroidAuto cuz the next time i drove, everything was fine.

If the turn signals work the likly a different issue??? Just happy its now working.

Also car play two is coming. I hope for the Mecan EV too.
