Personalising your My Porsche App Icon

Aside from my usual posts and responses about more technical stuff, occasionally I do have my ‘ooh that’s pretty’ girly head on, such as now.

I thought I’d share how to personalise the icon on the My Porsche app for iOS (it will likely be a similar route for Android I imagine). However it’s a tad redundant if you drive a black car that’s not a turbo as that’s the default for the app!

- Open the My Porsche app
- Go to Account
- Go to App Settings
- Go to App Icon
You should then see a range of options including Turbonite as the badge colour way (for Turbo models only perhaps? I have a Turbo so selected that) and the colour of your car. If you drive multiple Porsches, all colours within your garage appear as options, so for me it included ice grey with Turbonite for my husbands Taycan, and the Provence of my Macan.

I liked the thought that had gone into that feature on the app, even if it is purely aesthetic!

Thanks, those are both great tips! For some reason I don’t see an option to customize the app icon. Perhaps it’s a unique feature for Turbo owners.

Too bad the Porsche app doesn’t have a widget for the iPhone home screen in addition to the widget page.

Clearly it’s what you pay all the extra cash for! Shame that’s not a feature for everyone though

I have a 4, not turbo, and can customize the icon.
1- from the app. Click “account” at the bottom right
2 - click “app settings”
3 - click the top option for “app icon”

I am guessing it could be a location thing perhaps? From your locations noted on your used ID, it could be that in America you can’t change the app icon but you can in mainland Europe and the UK, and only mainland Europe can add the widget.

Alternatively it’s perhaps an iOS version quirk? I’m on 18.2, in the UK, but can’t add that widget.

Whilst I have changed the app colour on my iPhone, the same option doesn’t change the app colour on my iPad

Others in the U.S. said they are able to customize the app icon. Odd since I’m on the latest versions of iOS (18.2) and the My Porsche app (13.1.2).

Guess I should be happy that I could add the widget on my phone which is a bit more useful than coloring the background of my app!

My Porsche app has been reset once. Not sure if App icon was there before reset.

It appears that this might be location based? In the what’s new banner in the app it implied you can change app logo but don’t actually have the setting to do so.
