My (amazing) dealer also promised the RFID key ring… I got the card via the post. Not very useful in the UK I guess.
What's not useful? The card and the key?

Apparently, instead of using your credit card, Porsche charging card you can also use on other chargers too where credit cards are accepted. It's just that the discount is only at Ionity or Porsche's own chargers.
It's a bit more complicated due to the two version of the Porsche Charging Service in existance now, but you still get a discount at chargers other than Ionity and Porsche. It's just not as big.

You're a customer of Porsche Charging Service (PCS), and as such you're paying Porsche when you charge using your Porsche Charging Service account. What Ionity, or BP Pulse, or any other CPO (Charge Point Operator) charge is irrelevant. Ionity charge 74p/kWh in the UK, but if you charge via PCS then you pay the PCS rates. For you that would be 39p/kWh. Never start a charge directly with Ionity with your credit card as you will pay 74p/kWh, which is nearly double.

You can start a charge via your PCS in three ways:

1) Via an RFID device, be that the PCS card or an RFID key fob which has been connected to your PCS account via the Porsche app.

2) Via Plug&Charge.

3) Directly in the Porsche app.

I have done all three at some point, including paying for a cheap charge at Ionity Cobham when renting a Polestar 2 from Hertz.

The relatively limited charging locations for plug and charge I am finding…
Maybe I'm lucky with my routes on my journeys to the UK, but I've used P&C quite a lot in the UK. In the last year alone I've used:

Folkestone (M20)
Maidstone (M20) (two different sites)
Cobham Services (M25)
Milton Keynes (M1)
Baldock Services (A1)
Cambridge Services (A14)
Peterborough Services (A1)
Holiday Inn Doncaster (A1)
Blackburn (M65)

There are a lot of Ionity in construction, too.

Surprised to hear that. Ionity at Maidstone and Milton Keynes certainly didn't activate P&C. At Maidstone Ionity, I struggled as my RFID card didn't arrive that time and Ionity doesn't offer to pay via contactless. At Milton Keynes, I used the RFID card.

Thanks very much. I thought PCS only works with Ionity and Porsche. I would be interested to know whether it would work with Gridserve as they have quote a lot of Ultra fast chargers everywhere.

Gridserve is supported.

Can I suggest you use My
Porsche App Map and search for chargers. You will get a list of all supported operators and how to access either via your RFID card or QR scanning - there are many.

To be restricted to Ionity or Porsche would be somewhat limiting!
